What is the 50% key turning point for lithium-ion forklifts?
Category:
【Brief Description】What is the 50% key turning point for lithium-ion forklifts.
In recent years, the demand for lithium-ion forklifts has been surging. According to the latest forecast of Interact Analysis, lithium-ion batteries in China and some European countries will surpass the share of lead-acid batteries in electric forklifts (Class 1-3*) in 2025. It is expected that by 2030, the global market share of lithium-ion models will exceed 50%, and Class 3.1 will become the first sub-category to achieve more than 50% lithium electrification. By 2032, Class 3.1 will be fully lithium-ion in many regions, including China.
According to Interact Analysis's forecast, the 50% key turning point will come earliest in China and several European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Sweden): that is, the proportion of lithium-ion/electric models of all models will reach 50% as early as 2025:
The Chinese market is mainly driven by the rapid lithium electrification of Class 3.1 forklifts. In 2022, the global Class 3.1 shipments totaled 350,000 units, of which the Chinese market shipments were 192,000 units, contributing more than 60%. The total shipments in the Chinese market were 686,000 units, and the share of Class 3.1 also reached 28.1%.
The lithium battery penetration rate in major European countries mainly benefited from the early electrification. In 2022, electric forklifts (including lead-acid and lithium batteries) accounted for 67.8% of the global forklift market, 59.5% in China, and about 90% in Europe. Compared with other parts of the world where internal combustion engines are being replaced by electric vehicles and lithium batteries are replacing lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries are replacing lead-acid batteries more often in Europe.
The lithium-ion rate of forklifts in Africa is expected to reach 50% in 2029, mainly due to the African market's dependence on imported forklifts from China. The lithium battery penetration rate of forklifts in the region is directly related to the product strategy of Chinese manufacturers.
JetPower integrates the resources of many domestic lithium-ion battery factories and continuously develops the international market for lithium-ion forklift batteries. With the opportunity of the 50% key turning point of lithium-ion forklifts, and taking advantage of the advantages of lithium-ion products, it completed 60% of the annual business volume in the first quarter, gradually gaining a foothold in Turkey, Russia, Spain and other regions, laying a solid foundation for subsequent entry into countries with high lithium-ion reserves such as the United States, Mexico, and Germany.
